I was driving around with my Dad when he spotted a hawk in a field. We pulled the car over and pulled out our cameras (we were out photographing for the day). As we got closer and it didn't fly we realized something was wrong with it. Not long after, two conservation officers came by with gloves. Someone else had reported it as injured. They checked it out and found nothing obvious - they said maybe a head injury. Then they took it away. 600mm was overkill for a bird in hand. Original photo.
