A meadowlark has taken over a gravel field near my home. He has been perching on a stake and singing away for the last couple weeks. He sings the western song and sometimes the eastern (ID comments anyone - not positive either way). I drove my car into the field and set up next to the stake, giving me the perfect distance and light angle. Last year an Eastern Meadowlark had this field.
