Long-eared Owl

Long-eared Owl

Long-eared Owl. Fermi. Batavia, Illinois. I was hoping to see a short-eared owl. Instead I saw two long-eared. Photos are of the same bird. The other was smaller and thinner but I missed the shot. Also saw a Great-horned Owl. The vole below narrowly escaped being his meal. I must have came upon it just after getting caught. The owl flew as soon as I came over a hill but left the vole. The vole had an injury on the side (visible in photo) and was basically scared stiff. I tried to pose it for a photo but it buried its face. It eventually ran away after some recovery time.My stocklist
