Sunrise at Heron Pond, Lake Calumet region. I passed some hunters as I walked along the railroad tracks. I thought they were practicing calling in birds - I didn't know the season was open yet. Nothing there but some green herons. The hunters called in some geese, opened fire, and flushed this Yellow-crowned, who then perched in the open for a few photos. This is the first time I have seen an adult Yellow-crowned.
